afternoon with Mrs. Vera Webb.

uses Rib Eye Steak to demonstrate example
of how Uniform Meat Identity Standards Pro
gram can reduce confusion at the meat counter
The label illustrates new uniform method of
identification, showing first, the species of
meat CBeef); second, the primal area--or
so-called wholesale cut--from which the
retail cut was derived (Rib); and finally,
the recommended retail name (Eye Steak).
Thus, the cut will be labeled as a Beef
Rib Eye Steak wherever it is sold rather
than a Delmonico steak in one place, a
Boneless Rib Eye steak some place else,
or a Fillet, Spencer or Beauty steak in still
other stores across the nation, or even across
the street.

of Reedsport. Oregon were Tues
day evening dinner guests of Mr
and Mrs. G. E. Mackey
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gowev
of Vancouver. Washington came
Sundav evening to visit his sis
ter. Mr. andMrs.G. E. Mackev.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Deffer
returned home Sunday evening
from elk hunting at Whitnev,
near Unity. They did not get any.
Mrs. Anna Long, Mrs. Bill
Looney and Mrs. Gladys Tho
mas went to Caldwell Sunday.
Mrs. Long and Mrs. Looney had
dinner with Marv Looney and
Mrs. Thomas had dinner with
friends.
