The Reverend David Martinet
pastor of The Latin Assembly of
God Church, was notified last
week that he has been appointed
pastor of
a
growing Latin
Assembly of God Church in El
Monte, California. His appoint­
ment came as a complete sur­
prise to both David and his con­
gregation here in Nyssa.
David has been the pastor of
The Latin Assembly of God
Church here in Nyssa for the
past four years. During his
ministry the church has shown
constant growth and plans have
been made for a new church
building to house the growing
congregation. In an interview
on Mondav the Reverend Mar­
tinet was asked about plans for
continuing
the ministry ui
Nyssa. He said, A new pas­
tor will be selected Septem­
ber 9 and will assume duties
almost immediately. Plans for
the new building will be con­
tinued and the construction will
soon begin.
David said he has appreciated
working with the other minis­
ters and churches in Nyssa.
Nyssa city officials, business­
men, school actaiinistratorsand
teachers have always demon­
strated kindness and caocern
for him, his family and his con­
gregation.
