Eilen Jones Attends Graphoanalvsis Meet
Just because one has con-
firmed reservations for a cer-
tain flight does not always mean
that one will be on that flight.
Upon having our tickets checked
at Stapleton Airport in Denver,
we found that reservations on
the DC-10 had been oversold
and six Chicago bound passen
gers found themselves without
seats. We received notice of
our legal rights and were escor
ted to an office by a very apolo
getic United officer who made
first-class reservations for us
on a Continental Fanjet. Out
side of being45 minutes late and
slightly shaken up by the ex
perience, we arrived safely in
Chicago in plenty of time to
register for the 1GAS Congress
and to attend the Welcome Tea
which was in progress.
Approximately 450 members
from all over the United States
and Canada attended the six-
day meeting at the Drake Hotel
for study of Graphoanalysis sub-
jects covering personnel selec
tion, credit and collection w ork,
questioned documents, andper-
sonality traits of children and
adults.
Tuesday night the group en
joyed dinner at Arlington To
wers followed by a visit to the
theater to see a play in the
round featuring Barbara Rush
and Louis Jourdan in the "Sec
ret Affair.”
Before returning home, Mrs.
Jones visited Bob and Helga
Jones in Clinton, Iowa and a
sister, Mrs. Maude Matthews,
Longmont, Colorado
An interesting part of the
trip from Denver to Grand Junc
tion was a ride through the
Eisenhower Tunnel which goes
under the 12,000 foot Conti
nental Divide and at an eleva
tion of about 9,000 feet. The
tunnel is 1.7 miles in length.
It is white inside and very well
lighted. There are four televi
sion monitoring stations, a fen
ced pedestrian walk and several
fire
reporting
telephones.
Trucks carrying explosives are
not allowed to enter the tunnel.
Over 15,000 cars were counted
as they passed through on open
ing day.
