Deneke of the Oregon Supreme
Court and sat in on several
court cases. Secretary of State,
Clay Meyers, took him to ob
serve the penitentiary one af
ternoon. He was also treated
to a guided tour of the State
Capitol.
Dr. Wiles and family who are
active in AFS at Salem, hosted
Christian two days. They held
one party at their home for him
then they attended another AFS
party where he had the oppor
tunity to meet many other AFS
students.
The Wiles and Deneke fami
lies took Christian to many
other interesting places in the
valley and didlots of swimming.
On the way home, he went
by way of Crater Lake National
