Call 372-2233
The Senior Citizens of Nyssa
wish to announce the meeting in
the social room of the Methodist
Church Wednesday, June 20 at
3 p.m , with Nancy Scott Ashery
as guest speaker. Mrs. Ashery
is the coordinator for the Oregon
State Council of Seniorcitizens.
She is here to inform us of
benefits available to all Senior
Citizens, regardless of mem
bership in a formal group. These
benefits are not to be identi
fied as in the poverty level
but may be claimed with dignity.
The meeting will have a question
session.
It is a misconception to be
lieve the Senior Citizens, as a
formal group, are organized to
‘•while away" the later years
only. This program is good
and has its rightful place, but
the over-all programming is far
more reaching than this. They
are ever aware of physical and
financial benefits to be had
and merited, through state and
federal assistance. We hope all
those in the community over SS
years of age take advantage of
this meeting.
