The tables were beautifully decorated with a Christmas motif and dinner of turkey and ham was served to those present. .A gift ex­ change followed the dinner. Miss Carol Nelson Installed Honored Queen Bethel #33 DUP HOLDS PARTY The Daughters of Utah Pio- neers (DUP) met December 18 for a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. S. P. Bybee. To become a DUP member a person must be a direct de­ scendant of a pioneer of Utah before 1876. The 17 members present en­ joyed a delicious dinner and there was an exchange of gifts. Mrs. Melvin Ballantvne pre­ sented the program of Early Pioneer Christmases in the years 1850 to 1890. Town And Country Garden Club Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Pounds of Nyssa celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Decem­ ber 3, 1972 at the home of their niece, Mrs. Donald Hal­ sey of Salem. The Rev. Lloyd Pounds of Nyssa performed the marriage ceremony, reading a poem from the original services and also giving a vivid background of Ogallala, Nebraska fifty years ago. Those present were their daughter, Mrs. Onna Kat- simanis of Casper, Wyoming; son, Joe of Helena, Montana, and son Jack of Lake Oswego, Oregon. Two daughters, Do­ rothy Post of Glendive, Mon­ tana and Edith Bernard of Tulsa, Oklahoma, were unable to attend.
