cheek — the tingle as our
ears burned in the wintry
wind
With what joyous antici
pation we watched Father
uncover the sleds, noted
with pride the name Flexi
ble Flyer," for they were
the fleetest on the icy hills
We remember the deli
cious fragrances coming
from the kitchen.as Mother
prepared the fruit cakes,
baked the cookies and fool
ishly set them aside to cool,
not beyond our childish
reach We remember the
great Bird and its crusty
brown goodness, and the
crunchy, tart whole cran
