Deadline for ap­ plying is November 30, 1972. To be eligible, applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 21 and have completed high school by July 1, 1972. Nominees are chosen on a strictly competitive basis. Those interested in attending one of the four service aca­ demies should write to Pack­ wood as soon as possible to obtain the necessary applica- tion forms. After completing paste-ups of the final edition of the Bulldog, the staff observed Journal foreman Ruben Lopez as he photo­ graphed the pages and developed the nega- tives in the darkroom. They then journeyed to Ontario to observe the Argus staff as the plates were burned, put on the press, and watched 850 copies of their Bulldog being printed. The high school journalists gain much valuable experience as they write the copy, take the pictures, sell the ads, use the headliner, and paste up the type; and take all of the necessary steps prior to actual shooting of the negatives.
