The Adrian GAA Invitational
Track Meet was held April 20.
People attending saw the best
competition this area has ever
seen, with the exception of state
meets.
Eighteen schools gathered at
Adrian to compete in this meet
and totaled a number of 253
girls. Two new girl’s school
records were set for Adrian
by Kathy Hardman, who ran the
mile in 6 minutes and 38 se
conds, and Nancy Timmerman,
who set the new record for the
220 yard dash at 27.9. Nancy
competed against state winners
from Oregon and Idaho and
placed fifth.

UPON QUESTION OF LEVYING
A TAX OUTSIDE THE LIMI
TATION OF
THE OREGON
CONSTITUTION
Notice is hereby given that
an election will be held in School
District
No. 26 of Malheur
County, State of Oregon, from
8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on May
15, 1972, at Primary Building
in said school district, for the
purpose of submitting to the
qualified voters of said dis
trict the question of levying a
tax for the fiscal year 1972 -
1973 outside the limitation of
Section 11, Article XI, Oregon
Constitution.
The reasons for such levy
are:
Funding school district ope
ration because the existing tax
levy limitation will not pro
duce sufficient funds to operate
at state standards for the full
school year.

are:
Retirement will raise in Ja
nuary 1973 from 5.41% to 7.5%.

nuary 1973 from 5.2% on the
first $9000 to 5.65%.

Increase in school insurance
premiums.

ing for vocational classes touse

mentary playground.

Published April 27, May4,1972
Sport fishermen are re
minded to return their expired
1971 salmon-steelhead licenses
to the Oregon Game Commis
sion as soon as possible. The
law requires that these licen
ses be returned by May 1 fol
lowing the expiration date.
Reino Koski, who maintains
records on angler catch of these
fish, advised that the deadline
is fast approaching but anglers
still have a few days to get these
cards back before computation
of the 1971 catch begins.
Collection boxes are located
at all license agencies for the
convenience of fishermen. The
cards may also be returned di
rectly to the Game commission,
1634 S.W. Alder, Portland.
The importance of these re
cord cards cannot be overem
phasized, according to Koski.
By returning them, sport fish
ermen will be doing invaluable
service toward the management
of these important fishery re
sources. The information pro
vided by anglers is used to
compute the statewide salmon
and steelhead catch as well as
the catch by individual stream.
Total catch figures for 1971
will be available in July. An
glers wanting to know which
streams were the top salmon or
steelhead producers the past
year should contact the Commi
ssion at that time.
and rehab charges (as de
termined by the Secretary of
Interior) of the Park Unit of
the District for the 1972-1973
fiscal year.
The annual operation and
maintenance charges of $5.80
per acre for the season of 1972
for the Park Unit is the rate
set by the Boise Project Board
of Control. All water used in
excess of 3 1/2 acre feet per
acre is $1.60 per acre foot.
The assessment roll and re
cord may be inspected by any
interested persons at the of
fice of the Secretary.
