Mrs. Cora Rookstool and Mrs.

luncheon guests at the Payette
Senior Citizens Club.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rookstool
and Mrs. Sarah Yingling were
Thursday afternoon shoppers
in Caldwell and dinner guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rook­
stool of Caldwell.
The Susannah Circle
will
meet April 20 with Mrs. Waldo
Smalley.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sells are
the grandparents of a baby dau­
ghter born April 6 to Mr. and
Mrs. David Sells of Boise. She
was named Brandy Kay and
weighed seven pounds, seven
ounces.
Mr. and Mrs. Terry Sells
and Cory of Burley were week­
end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Sells and Sunday afternoon all
of them visited the new baby,
and Mr. and Mrs. David Sells
in Boise.
Mrs. Arlene Seward and Gary
attended the Nazarene Young
Peoples District Convention at
Nampa Friday. The boys quar­
tet from Nyssa came home with
a trophy won in the talent con­
test.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Saun­
ders and sons of Nyssa and Mr.
and Mrs. David Saunders of
Fruitland were Sunday guests
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight
Seward.
Mr. and Mrs. PhilClucasand
family of Big Bend were Sun­
day dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Rucker.
Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward
and Gary visited Chester Shaw
at the Veterans Hospital in
Boise Thursday and were dinner
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
Pierce in honor of Kimberlee’s
birthday anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward
visited Monday evening in the
Joe Hobson home. Mrs. Hobson
arrived home Monday from the
Ontario Hospital.
Saturday afternoon memorial
services were held in Caldwell
for Fred Hanny’s father. Rela­
tives gathered afterward in the
Hanny home to visit and for a
dinner prepared by friends of
the family.
Mrs. Ruth Bailey was home
Saturday and Sunday to visit
Mr. and Mrs. Everette Slate.
Mrs. Bailey is a patient at
the Treasure Valley Manor
Nursing Home in Caldwell.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Fritts and
Tami were Saturday dinner
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rex
Nichols. Don was home from
Hermiston over the week­
end.
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Fritts,
Mrs. Elie Crosswhite and Viola
Oberländer drove to Gooding
Sunday to visit with Mrs. Josie
Lewis Smith, whose grandson
Kenneth Farner of San Diego
was recently killed in a car
wreck in Arizona.
Cancer Drive Ends Saturday
The Annual American Can­
cer Society fund raising drive
will continue through Saturday
April 15.

Competing against seven area
schools three NHS students gar­
nered awards in the Eastern
Oregon College Business Skills
Contest in LaGrande, April 1.
Jennie Shimomaeda took top
honors in the typing I contest,
with Barbara Bosselman pla­
cing third. Marlene Jamieson
placed second in typing II and
third in ten-key adding machine.
