Hines, son of Mr. L.E. Hines of Parma, has reported for duty aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Resolute homeported at San Francisco. He will be assigned to duties as boatswain’s mate. Boat­ swain’s Mates train, direct and supervise men in military duties and seamanship. The Boat­ swain’s Mate is the Navy’s jack-of-all-trades. He joined the Coast Guard in January, 1955. Sgt. Royce Roberts Staff Sgt. Royce Roberts, who has been stationed with the Airforce in Shemya, Alaska for the past year is home on a one month leave from duties. Sgt. Royce, his wife and two children will leave from New York March 15 for Brendise, Italy, where he will be stationed for approximately three years. Airman Ricky Conner Sgt. Terry Conner Ricky Conner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Conner, is now in Anchorage, Alaska, with the Air Force, taking special train­ ing in heavy machine operation. SHEEP SHEARING SCHOOL PROPOSED Meyers, former Nyssan, has been promoted to Vice President in First Western Bank’s Corporate Finance Divi­ sion. The school will be conducted by John Landers, Animal Science Specialist from Oregon State University Exten­ sion Service, Bain says. Each participant will shear several sheep to learn the basic fundamentals of the art. Equip­ ment will be furnished by Dr. Landers. This will be a two day school with only a small registeration fee required. The only qualification for the school is that the participant must be big and strong enough to handle a mature sheep and have an in­ terest in sheep raising.
