Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Nijar
BRIDGE ACTIVITIES
Mrs. Herb Fisher hosted the
Tuesday Bridge Club’s Christ­
mas party and luncheon Tues­
day, December 7 at her home.
There was a gift exchange
at the party and bridge was
played.
Winners were Mrs.
Irene Larson and Mrs. Kay
Brendle.
Mrs. Bill Stringer enter­
tained members of the Friday
Afternoon Bridge Club Dec­
ember 10. Mrs. David Sara­
zin won high honors, with Mrs.
Chuck Michael taking second
and Mrs. K. A. Danford, low.
MERRY WIDOWS
The Merry Widows met at
the home of Harriet Warren
for a 6:30 dinner Saturday,
December 11.
Verna Tobler
was a guest. After dinner the
group played pinochle.
The Merry Widows will post­
pone their regular meeting for
the next two weeks because of
the holidays. Their next meet­
ing will be held January 8.
GRANGE
Mr. and Mrs.Edward Cordova of Nyssa, announce the marriage
of their daughter, Virginia Mae, toAlexanderNijarof California.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Nijar of Palm Springs,
California.
The couple were united in marriage September 4, 1971 at
the Assembly of God Church in Ontario. The ceremony was
. performed by the Rev. Robert Rollins, assisted by Rev. David
Martinez.
The new Mrs. Nijar, graduated from Nyssa High School and
the Latin American Bible Institute at LaPuente, California.
She is employed as a teacher at Norwalk Christian School,
Norwalk, California. Her husband has received his B.A. degree
and is also employed in teaching at Norwalk Christian School.
The couple are making their home in PicoRiveria, California.
ANK Garden Club Town And Country
The ANK Garden Club held
their December 14 meeting at
the home of Mrs. Raymond
Poulton in Parma. Co-hostess
as Mis. Joseph Perecz. The
home and tables were decorated
beautifully in a Christmas decor.

to be sent to Hillcrest School
for Giris in Salem. This is an
annual project of (lie club.

Tom Nishitani pre-
ented a program of music and
a Christmas story on ‘‘The
Moor,” by Elizabeth Goudge.
Next meeting will be January
11, at the home of Mrs. Blake
Lowell in Roswell.
Garden Club
The Town and Country Gar­
den Club met December 9 at the
home of Mrs. John Stam in Nu
Acres for their annual Chris­
tmas party.
After a short business meet­
ing the nine members present
enjoyed a delicious turkey din­
ner and spent the afternoon
visiting and having a gift ex-
change.
Next meeting will be Jan-
uary 14 at the home of Mrs.
Kenneth Kerby.

Members of the CWA of Ore­
gon Trail Grange met at the
home of Mrs. Gerrit Stam Tues­
day, December 7, for their
Christmas party.
A short business meeting fol­
lowed the dinner and hostesses
for the following year were
chosen. Plans for the Grange
Christmas party to be held
December 16, starting with din­
ner at 7 p.m. were completed.
The grange will provide the
turkey and rolls with the balance
of the meal to be potluck.
Plans for the 1972 workbook
were completed.
Members drew numbers for
the gift exchange and Chairman
Polly Holub acted as Santa in
distributing them. HostessJan-

candy.
The next meeting will be
