The Nyssa Gat« City Journal, Nyssa, Oregon Page Ten Bulldogs Beat Knights, 14-6 Nyssa's Bulldogs won number 6 over a tough Bishop Kelly team Friday night by 14 to 6. The Knights running game was very strong as they gained 226 yards on the ground, but with the exception of one long scoring run the Bulldogs defense held them when it counted. Nyssa scored first early in the game as Ron Moffis threw a long touchdown pass to Rick Chester, good for 6 points. Mof fis made the conversion good with a two-pointer to Greg Mi chael. Later in the first quarter Bishop Kelly halfback Ron Bixby raced 38 yards to score, the conversion failed, and Nyssa led 8-6. This score held through the second and third quarters as neither team was able to Nyssa Eagles Enjoy Golf Tourney SUGAR BOWL score. Then on the first play of the fourth quarter Moffis took the ball on a delayed buck from his own 35, shook off several tack lers, and ran 65 yards for the game’s final touchdown. The conversion failed, and the 14-6 score held up through a torrid 11 1/2 minutes. The win left Nyssa with a 6-0 record overall, 4-0 inSRV play, and 3-0 in the Greater Oregon League. Friday night the Bulldogs tra vel to John Day to play Grant Union High School, a game which could decide the Greater Ore gon championship. Losers only to Vale, John Day is considered very strong.
