Rev. J.D. Crego performed the ceremony uniting Myrtle Alexander and Foy Sasser be fore an altar decorated with pink gladiola, a gift from the Wesleyan Service Guild of the church. A beautiful plant, a surprise gift from the bride’s daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Smiley, was placed at the side of the altar. Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Wernick were the Sassers’ attendents. Open House To Honor Shirley Mitchells A host of friends attended the open house reception given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Lytle’s 50th wedding anniver sary, Sunday June 27, in tne social room of the Methodist Church. The reception was hosted by the Women’s Society of the church and the Lytle’s children, Dick Lytle of Seattle, Don Lytle of Nampa, John Lytle of Milton-Freewater, Mrs. Tom (Marilyn) Hilts of Portland and Mrs. Alice Bott of Seattle (who was unable to attend.) Mrs. Dorothy Bock was in charge of refreshments. Mrs. Eva Chadwick, Mrs. Helen Gon- yer and Mrs. Madge Thomson decorated and planned the ar rangements of the social hall. Yellow and white cake, golden punch, and coffee were served from the reception table which was covered with a white linen table cloth that had belonged to Mrs. Lytle’s mother and had been used at the Lytle’s wed ding 50 years ago. Mrs. Tom (Marilyn) Hilts cut the cake, Mrs. John Lytle served punch, and Mrs. Don (Jeanette) Lytle poured coffee. Above the table a Kissing Ball hung in which white doves rested on a nest of white roses and lilies of the valley. Crystal bead drapery enhanced the en tire ornament. The guest tables were deco rated with yellow glowing candles and bouquets of sweet peas and assorted flowers.
