Lady Golfers Play In Spring Tourney Members of the Ontario Wo men’s Golf association went into their third week of team play on April 18 with Maudie Voeller’s team in first place, Members of the Thursday afternoon bridge club met last week at the home of Mrs. Tom Eldredge. Prise winners were Mrs. Bill Barton and Mrs. Dick Forbes*. Evelyn Newman’s and Helen Hammer’s squads tied for sec­ ond place and Lis Stringer’s team in third spot. President Maxie Sugai ap­ pointed Connie Jones to serve as chairman for the Betty Jen­ kins memorial tournament and Bodell Patterson as represent­ ative from the association to work with the junior organi­ zation. On April 11, low gross on the back nine was scored by Claudia Taylor and low jross on the front nine by Bodell Patter­ son; low new on the back nine, Maxie Sugai and low net on the front, Lois Johnson. The spring handicap tourna­ ment started this week and eighteen holes were played both Tuesday and Wednesday. The April 25 luncheon was served by Petra McCeary, Mary Moore, Sina Conner and Claire Ackerman. Bulldogs Speed Past Knights In Diamond Play The Nyssa Bulldogs went into action last Thursday when they ran past the Bishop Kelly Knights with a 4-3 score. z xi wk A Nyssa's winning run came in the bottom of the eighth Inning with Kodama’s walk and stolen base, and House’s double to right field. In the sixth inning Kelly scored its three runs on an error, a single, a double and a two-run passed ball. Anderson and Cleaver tallied two hits to record their second win against three losses. Bishop Kelly now stands 3-2 in league play.
