LDS Missionaries
Singing for Pope

N1J ACRES Mrs. George Pul­
sipher recently received a lettei
from her son, Jesse Fry, who is
serving an LDS mission in Italy,
with headquarters in Florence. He
wus among a group of mission­
aries who sang for the Pope upon
his arrival in Florence for the
Christmas season.
The Pope wus an hour late ar­
riving. so the missionaries sang
for the townspeople. While they
were singing, TV cameras record­
ed the progrum for a later half-
hour broadcast shown throughout
Europe. They sang in both Eng­
lish und Italian and greeted the
Pope with “Jingle Bells.”
Jesse reports that this was the
most thrilling Christmas Eve he
hud spent in his whole lifetime.
Mr. and Mrs. Clair Beus of
Othello, Wash., were recent vis­
itors in the home of her mother,
Mr. and Mrs. George Pulsipher.
They had been on an extended
trip to Michigun and stopped en­
route home.
Leavo for Madras
Mmes. Rulph Baxter and Bert
Schmidt visited Friday ut the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis
Heap in Boise. The Heap couple
visited Sunday in the Baxter resi­
dence. Mrs. Schmidt and son,
Charles, left Monday for their
home at Madras. Ore. Charles had
been visiting friends and rela­
tives in Nampa and plans to join
the U. S. Navy in the near future
Mmes. Elizabeth Baxter, Effie
Nielsen and Mabelle McKaguo
spent Friday afternoon visiting
Mrs. V. C. Walker in Parma.

Mr. and Mrs. Dean Heideman and
children, all of Caldwell, were

Mr. and Mrs. Alden Bryan vis­
ited Sunday afternoon with rela­
tives and friends in Caldwell.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mell arrived
home Sunday night from a trip
to Texas and Louisiana where
they visited relatives and friends.
,Tony also visited two former ship­
mates who served with him in
the U. S. Navy.

husband and son had been stay­

bulls consigned to their annual
spring sale to be held Feb. 24 at
the Malheur county fairgrounds
in Ontario.

will be graded by the committee
and sold by grade. The grading
will be done at the fairgrounds

Catalogues are being printed
listing consignors and various lots
to be offered. They will also
show pedigree of each animal
consigned, and will be available
soon at the county agent’s office
in Ontario.
