Built and paid for new jail and de

Upgraded office and auto equipment
for better service and savings. Pur
chase of utility automobiles (except
Sheriff vehicles) has given better
mileage and less maintenance costs.
Carried out a progressive road and
bridge program—improved and oiled
36 miles of roads without sacrificing
design or quality.
Cooperated in widening and paving

Rebuilt or repaired 19 bridges and
200 miles of roads damaged by 1963

River bridge, with construction to
begin in September, State Park and

Creek Reservoir Park.
Assisted with boat revenue from the
s+ate in building the Nyssa overnight
trailer park, boat ramp and dock.
Using these funds with communities,
we have built boat ramps on every
major reservoir or stream in the
county.
