was taken by ambulance Satur
day morning to Holy Kosary hos
pital in Ontario. At the time thia
column was written, she remained
in critical condition.
Tuny Mell is «till confined to
the Veterans’ hospital in Boise
and early this week he remained
in serious condition, lie has been
transferred to a private room and
it is hoped that the change will
be of considerable benefit to him
Miss Janice Evans returned to
her home Sunday after being re
leased from Malheur Memorial
hospital. She is now convalescing
at her home where her mother,
Mrs. Lucy Evans, is caring for
her.

Trad Grange was held April 7
with Master Tom Jones presiding
The main order of business was
balloting on election of state of
ficers.
During the lecturer’s hour,
mcmlaTS participated in a review
of work for the first degree. A
similar review of second degree
will be given ut the next meeting,
April 21. A skit will be present
ed by ¡Mrs. Loyd Adams.
H O Hopkins' name was called
for the attendance prize and he
missed $3 by not being present.
A dollar will be added for the
next drawing.
Those having birthday anni
versaries in March and who were
fined one cent for each year of
their lives wore Iva Adams, Lu-

GRAVESIDE RITES HELD
FOR DEWEY H. SMALL
The final pinochle party of the
season was held Saturday evening
at the Nu Acres community hall
with a potluck dinner preceding
the card session.
High scorers for the evening
were Jerry Stroud and Cora
Stockfleth, with low score awards
going to Mike McKaguc and Mrs.
Rudy Nedbalek. l’hyllis Shaw re
ceived the traveling prize. Top
grand prizes for the season went
to Arden and Phyllis Atkinson,
with Jerry Stroud and Gnetty
Piercy taking low scoring honors
Ralph Baxter spent the weck-
at his home and returned Mon
day to Dry I-akc where he is su
pervising field work.
Graveside services for Dewey
H Small were conducted Satur
day morning, April 9, 1906, at
the Nyssa cemetery. Interment
was made in the Veterans' plot
under direction of Licnkaemper
chapel.
Mr Small, an employee of the
Stringer company, succumbed the
previous Wednesday at Malheur
Memorial hospital after suffering
a heart attack on the evening of
April 4 at Owyhee hotel.
He was born June 9, 1897, in
Tennessee and is survived by a
brother, Lloyd Small of Wenat
chee. Wash.

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Heap, who
arc attending college in Pocatello,
Were weekend guests of his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Baxter.
