Garden Club Meeing
A meeting of Town and Coun
try Garden club will be held at
2 o’clock Thursday afternoon.
Jan 20. at the home of Mrs. Ron
Young. 818 Reece avenue.
Mrs. Ron Zerbel will present
the program on “Landscaping
With Annuals.”
All members are urged to at
tend and take a guest. Member
ships in the club are open and
women interested in gardening
are welcome. A special invitation
is extended to newcomers to the
area who would like to learn to
garden in this climate.

Nyssa—Mrs. E. W Pruyn was
hostess at a party Wednesday af-
temoon, Jan. 6. honoring Mrs.
Maurice (Fannie) Corey on her
82nd birthday anniversary.
Fourteen friends were present
and the honoree received many
nice gifts, as well as 26 beautiful
greeting cards.
Mrs. Pruyn served traditional
refreshments of birthday cake, ice
cream and coffee, and each guest
wished Mrs. Corey many happy ,
returns of the day.
Newell Heights
On Sunday,
Jan. 9, Mrs Anna D. S. Pratt
celebrated her 84th anniversary
with a surprise birthday dinner
in her residence.
Upon being taken home from
church by her daughter-in-law,
Mrs. Eugene Pratt, the elder Mrs.
Pratt found the dinner, complete
with birthday cake, had been
prepared by her granddaughter,
Judy Pratt, who resides with her.
Her guest was Mrs. Loura
Smith of .Adrian, whom Mrs.
Pratt reports will be 90 years old
in just a few days. Visiting with
the honoree in the afternoon were
Mr. and Mrs Audrey Ward of
Nyssa. Mrs. Ann O’lAnighlen. Mr. i
and Mrs. Louis Pratt
To complete her special day.
Mrs. Pratt was a Sunday evening
guest in the home of her son, Eu
gene Pratt and family.

Winners for the Monday ses
sion of Nyssa duplicate bridge
club have been reported by Mrs.
Houston Wilson, hostess for the
weekly card parties.
High scorers for the evening
were Mrs. E. H. Brandt and Mrs.
Wilson, first; Dr. and Mrs L. A.
Maulding, second; Dr. and Mrs.
K. A. Danford. third.
The card sessions are held at
8 o’clock Monday evenings in the
Eagles hall and are open to the
public.
Shelley Myrick Honored
On Birthday Anniversary
Miss Shelley Myrick was hon
ored at a New Year’s eve birth
day party held at the home of
her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Myrick. Sixteen guests were pres
ent to help celebrate her eighth
anniversary.
A New Year theme was carried
out in decorations and refresh
ments with the birthday cake
being made by Mrs. Lyle Miner,
aunt of the honoree.
