Event Held at Adrian
For the second consecutive year
the Grizzlies of Fruitland were
winners of the invitational track
meet staged last Thursday on the
Adrian field.
They took five first places, set
three records and scored 44 points
in 11 events.
Homedale garnered 2516 points
for second place with North Pow­
der and Kuna capturing 22 and
20 points respectively for third
ond fourth place honors.
Eleven new records were estab­
lished and one was tied. Don
Gorham of North Powder ac­
counted for three records by win­
ning both hurdle events and the
pole vault.
Roy Helderman of Fruitland
rewrote the 220-yard dash record
after tieing the record for the 100-
yard dash.
Other records were set by
Grizzly Roger Alexander in the
440-yard dash, Melba’s Dee Mc-
Dorman with the shot put, Bob
Lincoln of Homedale in the dis­
cus event and Wilder’s Skip
Whitenett in the broad jump.
Middleton took record-breaking
honors in the 440 relay along
with Fruitland in the 880 relay
1 and Homedale in mile relay.

The Adrian Antelopes opened
their SRV B-league baseball sea­
son Tuesday with a 14-2 win
against the Wildcats of Wilder
on the Idaho diamond.
The Adrian boys got off to a
| fast start, scoring three runs in
the first inning, four in the sec­
ond and two in the third. Leading
the Adrian attack was Duane
Munn, a junior outfielder who
scored a home run.
Orville Carroll, Isaac Martinez
and Tim Tailman. Antelope pitch­
ers. limited the Wildcats to two
hits with both runs being scored
during the sixth inning.

through 12) will begin at 6 o'­
clock Monday evening, April 12,
at Nyssa south park, it is an­
nounced by Coach Alvin Allen.
Young baseballers who did
not sign up last Friday, may do
so at the park, the coach said.
