Elks Lodge Annual
Father-Son Banquet
Set Tuesday Evening
Elks lodge annual father - son
banquet will be held Tuesday,
Nov. 8, at 7 p m , it was announc­
ed this week by Bruce Robb, pub­
licity chairman. The dinner will
be held at the lodge hall in On-
tario.
Entertainment will be furnish-
ed by The Great Larry, renown­
ed magician.
Tickets must be obtained at the
hall no later than Sunday, Nov. 6.

Amity Club Members
Meet at Blair Home
Amity club members met Fri­
day night at the home of Mrs
Frell Blair.
Following the business meeting
and financial report, Mrs. J. El­
wood Flinders reviewed the book,
“The Naked Communist” by W.
Cleon Skousen.
Door prize was won by Mrs.
Don Moss and refreshments were
served by the hostess to the 13
ladies present.
Next meeting will be Nov. 11
at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Lewis.

Fourth Grade Pupils Give
Varied Program at Tea
Pupils in Mrs. Madge Thomp­
son’s fourth grade room entertain­
ed their parents at a tea Oct. 27.
Approximately 30 parents and
small children attended.
A program of music, choral
reading, social studies and physi­
cal education demonstrations was
given by the class.
Refreshments carrying out the
Halloween theme were served by
Mrs. Ray Holly and Mrs. Lauren
Wright, room mothers. They were
assisted by Mrs. Carl Burning­
ham, Mrs. Oscar Bratton, Mrs.
Harold Wilson, Mrs. Abe and Mrs.
Clark.

Indian, Halloween Theme
Used at Third Grade Tea
Mrs. Helen Gonyer s third grade
students held their parents’ tea
Oct. 26. Twenty mothers, 13 pre­
school children, five grandmoth­
ers and one father were in at­
tendance.
The children presented a short
program using Indian and Hal­
loween themes which consisted of
songs, poems, choral reading, pan­
tomime and science experiment.
These activities are an outgrowth
of regular school work.
Refreshments of cookies and
punch were served by Mrs. Lyle
Miner and Mrs. Max Jones, room
mothers.
i Fifth Grade Students
1 Present Hobby Show at Tea
A hobby show was presented
by members of Mrs. Joy McPart-
land’s fifth grade class at a par­
ents’ tea Oct. 28.
The children showed individual
hobbies of rocks, models, ball
cards, coins, stamps, cooking,
birds’ nests and music. Several
maps which had been made by
students were shown and explain­
ed as a hobby of the room.
Refreshments were served by
Mrs. Darwin Jensen and Mrs.
John Peine, room mothers.

Oregon Trail card party was
held Saturday evening at the
grange hall with six tables in
play. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Price, Sr.,
Mr and Mrs. Harold Sisson and
Thomas Jones were hosts and
hostesses for the event.

Nov. 12, and the public is invited
