Ceramic Field Trip
The Town and Country Garden
club met Monday afternoon at the
K. E Kerby home with seven
members present.
After a short business meeting
and refreshments, members took
a field trip to Wilder to view the
ceramic shop of Mrs. Huff. She
explained the process of making
the clay and then molding, glaz­
ing and firing of each piece.

Hosted By Three Couples

hosts at the Oregon Trail Grange
semi-monthly card party held
Saturday evening at the Oregon
Trail hall.
Twelve tables were in play and
high winners for the evening
were Lula Lattig and Jim Malloy.
Low prizes were won by Mrs.
Fern Runcorn and Frank Sher­
wood. Mrs. Loyd Adams and W.
O. Unwin were winners of the
traveling prizes.
The next card party will be
held February 27, and the public
is cordially invited.

was given Jan. 29 for Miss Mar­
jorie Brawner at the home of
Mrs. Paul Baker at 1005 Park
Ave., Nyssa.
Guests were the employee^ of
Malheur Memorial hospital.
Games and prizes were highlights
of the evening.
Mrs. Baker was assisted by her
daughters, Mrs. Glen Mefford,
Janice Baker and also by her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert Ba-
ker.

and Mrs. Roy Brawner of Fruit­
land is the bride-elect of Jack
Mattoch of Fruitland.
Large Crowd Attends
Annual Scout Dinner
With 200 in attendance, the an­
nual banquet for the Guide Patrol
Scouts of the LDS Nyssa stake
was held Friday night at the
Owyhee ward recreat.on hall The
dinner was prepared and served
by the Nyssa Stake Primary as­
sociation assisted by the presi-
dency from each of the seven
wards of the stake.
Prior to the dinner, games and
stunts for the guests were con-
ducted by Mrs. Raymond Bower
of Parma.
Special guests included Jim
Kearns, Ore-Ida council scout
executive; Syd Tate, Oregon dis- I
trict scout executive; Arvel L. |
Child, Leland Montgomery and,
J. Blaine Holladay, Nyssa stake I
presidency. Other guests were the 1
boys, their parents and their ward I
Guide Patrol leaders.
This being the Golden Jubilee
year of Scouting, appropriate gol­
den emblems were used in the '
table decorations and golden ,
wreath encircled 50’s reminded i
guests of the theme. Favors were
miniature Uncle Sam hats filled
with candy.
