Elks' All-Slar Football Game Set
For Baker With Two Nyssa Players
Elks All S ta r football players
have been practicing in O ntario
the p ast tw o w eeks in prep aratio n
fo r the All S ta r gam e to be played
in B ak er S atu rd ay at 8 p.m. Two
Nyssa high school stars, G erald
Talbot, at halfback, and L arry
R oberts, at quarterback, will be
on the eastern Oregon squad.
The eastern Oregon squad’s op­
position will be m ade up of p lay­
ers rep resen tin g central O regon
cities. E ach team w as selected
from the su rro u n d in g high schools
in the area by coaches of the v a r­
ious schools and players w ere
picked because of th eir o u tstan d ­
ing play du rin g the previous
year.

p o rt th eir boys are shaping up
w ell a fte r tw o w eeks of practice.

For Prairie City Man
Jo h n Earl Haley, 77, of P rairie
City, died there T uesday. Services
are pending u n d er direction of

Mr. Haley was born May 2,
1881, in Illinois and was a re sid e n t
of th e P ra irie City com m unity for
the p ast 35 years.
He is survived by several n ep h ­
ews and nieces including Ed W ar­
ren, Nyssa, Mrs. Leona Bingm an
and Mrs. M ary Wells, O ntario.
