Let the Bible Speak
F riends, I s ta rte d w riting
these articles in the Nyssa
Jo u rn a l about a y ear ago.
I wrote several columns on
unity and used the 17th chap
ter of St. John where the Lord
prayed that we all be one even
as He and His Father are one,
and I believe almost everyone
who read them would be w ill
ing to have unity if you would
just come over to our church
and we would all be the same
denomination.
T h at is im possible for people
to do, because m em bers of each
denom ination th in k they are
ju st as good o r a little b etter
th an th e rest.
I know most everyone thinks
the same of me: that I would
like for all the denominations
to come over to my church.
But it isn't true because I don't
have a church and do not be
long to any religious :denomi-
nation.
C hrist has a ch u rch and it
isn’t a denom ination. It is the
one He said He w ould b u ild in
M att. 16:18.
He did build il on the day
of Pentecost through His in
spired apistles that were filled
with the Holy Ghost. Acts 2.
And m y friends, if you w ill
ju st do w h at P e te r told them
to do in Acts 2:37-41, He
(C hrist) w ill add you to His
church ju st like th e w rite r said
in th e 47th verse.
Now let us notice what the
word denomination means: the
act of designating, a sect, class
or division, a part of the whole.
Now in o rd er for us to u n ite
w ith o u t going o v er to som e-
ones church, we m ust go back
to th e Bible and do ju st w hat
it says to do, no m ore, no less,
and w e w ill be of th e sam e
m ind and th e sam e sp irit and
God w ill m ake us of th e sam e
body and we w ill all be one as
C hrist prayed.
I know, you may say I would
be w illing to do it, but the rest
of the congregations won't lay
down some of their traditions.
It is good if they would, but
there isn't any excuse for you,
because you can overcome
those htings yourself, and God
w ill give you a crown — the
same as Christ was writing to
the seven churches in R evela
tions, chapters 2 and 3.
T here w as only one church
th a t C h rist d id n ’t find som e

the church a t S m yrna.
The other six churches He
offered a promise if they would
overcome their faults.
He says, “to HIM th a t over-
com eth,” so th a t m eans to a n y
one th a t overcom eth and does
His will, no more, no less, u n
til the end, C hrist w ill give a
crown.
I would like you to read Rev.
2 and 3, but at least Rev. 2:7,
10. 17. 26 and Rev. 3:5, 12.
