Need Great This Year Henigson stated that the Nyssa and Ontario Toastmasters clubs have agreed to undertake an exten sive speaking campaign throughout the county during the latter part of December and forepart of January. "Almost everyone in the lower Snake river valley is aware of the terrible epidemic that struck this area this summer, which speaks for itself about the need for funds," the coun ty eampafgn chairman said. The Malheur Memorial hospital alone treated 78 cases of polio dur ing the epidemic, although only part o f that number were residents of Malheur county. There were sev eral cases treated at the Ontario hospital and the National Founda tion for Infantile Paralysis has poured thousands of dollars into this community to help fight the oread disease, it was explained. Henigson said that total figures of expenditures this year have not yet been compiled, but will be an nounced later. All campaign plans are not complete, but numerous means of raising funds will be re vealed from time to time, the chair man said. The Malheur county chapter of the NFIP has a new officer, Ralph G. Lawrence, who succeeds Bernard Frost as vice chairman. Clyde Sni der is the county chairman, Mrs. Ruth C. Foster, secretary’, and Leon ard Hewett, treasurer.
