THE NYSSA GATE CITY JOURNAL. NYSSA. OREGON. THURSDAY. Services Are Held In Owvhee Church OWYHEE. Nov.29—Rev. Robert Kri- ner held services at the Owyhee Community church Sunday. Nov ember 25 both morning and evening. In the afternoon, Rev. and Mrs. Kri- ner and family were dinner guests in the Donald Grant home. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Patterson re ceived word from their son. Private Verle Patterson, that he had landed in Japan on the 12th and was there only 36 hours before going to Korea, where he Is now stationed. Mrs. Lynn Kygar left Tuesday night by bus for Darwin, California to visit in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mac Tilley and family. Mrs. Kygar and Mrs. Tilly are sisters and Mrs. Kygar will care for the Tilly child ren while Mrs. Tilly has surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fletcher of Mur phy. Idaho had Thanksgiving din ner in the Kenneth McDonald home Thursday. Dr. and Mrs. Harry Rowe and Bruce of Parma spent the Thanks giving holidays in the R. L. Patton home. On Thursday Mr and Mrs. George Schweizer went to Nampa, where they had dinner at the Dewey Place hotel, then drove on to Boise and spent the night with a niece of Mrs. Schweizer. Mrs. Jess Powell. On Saturday they shopped in Nampa and returned home tthat evening just in time to entertain at a card party. Three tables were in play with Mrs. C. C. Cotton and Leon ard Newgen winning high and Mrs. Lloyd Tobler and Neonard New gen the traveling prize. Mr and Mrs. Byrd Walters enter tained at dinner on Thanksgiving day for Mr. and Mrs. Williard Steele and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jones of Boise and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Walt ers. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Cottle of Nampa were dinner guests in the Grant Patterson home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Brown were hosts at dinner Thursday for Lynn Kygar and Maxine. Mr and Mrs. Jesse Kygar. Merle Kygar and Mr. and Mrs. Don Franklin and sons of Boise. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Linville arrived Sunday from Alameda. California to spend some time with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Linville. Pat is serving in the U. S. navy and has been overseas. Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Walters. Mrs. Gerald Slippy and Mrs. Ellis Walt ers went to Boise Friday night and attended the Horace Heidt show. On Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Koger also had as guests Dr. and Mrs. L. M. Koger and family of Ontario. Trula Franklin of Parma spent the Thanksgiving week-end with her sister, Mrs. Gerald Slippy and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Hipolito Mendazona were hosts at dinner Thursday for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Totoricka of Boise, . Mr. and Mrs. Tony Arrana and } children of Nampa and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jayo and family of Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Ditty went to Nampa Sunday to visit in the Dick j Nedro home. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Culbertson and Larry had Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Mearl McClure and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl | Kygar and children were also guests. Mr. and Mrs. Gregg and child ren, Reeky, Victor and Joanne of Madras arrived Wednesday even- | ing to visit relatives. They spent I Wednesday night with his mother. Mrs. Anna Gregg and the rest of the time they stayed with Mr. and Mrs. George Gregg and family. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Oregg and children were dinner guests in the Kenneth McDonald home. Mr and Mrs. Darrell Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brewer drove to Hines Thursday and had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. John Westfall and family. When the group re turned home Thursday evening they counted 37 deer along the road way. Mr. and Mrs. Oerald Slippy had as dinner guests Thursday Mr and Mrs. Ray Franklin and Trula of Parma. During the afternoon Mr and Mrs. Dale Clary and children of Parma and Bob Ransom of Nyssa called In the Slippy home. for Mr. and Mrs. John Broad, Mr and Mrs. Dick Oroot and Klaas and Dick*Tensen. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Van Twisk were hosts at a turkey dinner for the fol lowing guests: Mr. and Mrs. Kris Kats and Rikus Van Twisk of Val ley View and Henry Van Twisk. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Larson en tertained for their immediate fam ily, Mrs. Florence Larson and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Weatherspoon and sons. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Tensen and Neil and Carolyn were in Ontario Thursday evening. Dave Hawkins was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Cook of Ontario on Thanksgiving. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Jensen of Nyssa were hosts at Thanksgiving dinner for the following guests: Mrs. T. H. Beranek of Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Tensen and Neil and Carolyn, Loretta Russell. Theresa Jensen and Ronald Jensen, who Is a student at O. S. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. Ricks of Nyssa called on friends of this community Thursday afternoon. Arcadia Livestock Club Meets— Members of the Arcadia Live stock club and the Home Economics club held their annual 4-H achieve ment meeting at the Arcadia school building Saturday evening. After a short program, given by members of the two clubs, County Club Agent E. M Hauser awarded the pins and certificates. Both clubs have com pleted their work 100 percent.
