Holmes entertained at j dinner Friday evening celebrating j the birthday of their son. Rolland Holmes. Other guests were Mrs. Rolland Holmes and family. Miss Bonnie Kressly and Robert and Junior Holmes. The Merry Matrons club met at the home of Jessie Chard Wednes day afternoon. May 23. The after noon was spent socially. Roll call was answered by 13 members and three guests, Lorraine Chard, Peggy Conley and Betty Neilson. Roll call was a "Poem About Mother’’. Ber nice Sewell won the door prize. In a game, Bettilia Carlson, Betty Niel son and Alice Holmes won prizes. Lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Betty Nielsen and Lor raine Chard. The next meeting will be held Thursday, May 31 with Gladys Byers as hostess. Roll call will be answered by "What I’d Like To Do This Summer". Mrs. L. O. Carlson left Saturday morning for Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to visit her mother and other rel atives. - Report O f Death In Calif. The double ring ceremony was performed by L. D. S. Bishop Hu bert Christensen. The bride wore a white silk organ dy afternoon frock, with black acces sories. She was attended by Miss Carolee Bingham, who chose an or chid print frock, with white acces sories. The groom was attended by his brother "Dutch’’. Mrs. Bruce Pett chose a dark crepe dress with pink corsage. Mrs. Hipp wore a flowered print frock, with matching corsage. Mrs. Taft Pett was in charge o f the refreshments, with Mrs. Wayne Qarner and Mrs. Oladys Stanger assisting. Many close friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony, amid floral arrangements of pastel shade peonies, and other summer flowers The cake was 3- tiered with miniature bride and groom on top. The bride is a gradu ate of the Parma high school, and is employed as stenographer by Origg Brothers and Butler here. Mr. Hipp, a veteran of world war II, is affiliat ed with the Paulus Jewelry store. D. S. boys, J. B. Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray I C. Lewis, who recently returned from a mission for the church, and Jerry Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Williams, who was home on leave from his station with the armed forces in Virginia. A program was featured by talks by the young men and musical numbers. During a business session, the con gregation voted to release Mrs. Frank Skeen, Mrs. Gladys Peterson i and Mrs. Herbert Sanders from various teaching positions.
