Snow cover on the huge Owyhee watershed has already contributed heavily toward filling the Owyhee reservoir. Low elevation snow melt ed and ran off in early February and was completely removed in the latter part of March by a spring thaw. Remaining snow as of April 1 has a water content about 104 percent of last year and 108 percent average. Flow of the Owyhee river above the reservoir is forecast at 625,000 acre feet for the six manths period, April through September. The 1950 flow for the same period was about 32.000 and in 1949 about 456.000 acre feet. The 10-year average discharge (1940-49) is 397.000 acre feet. Tiny parasols were used as nut cups to mark the places, and larger para sols were filled with daffodils and placed between yellow and green tapers to center the tables. The tables were arranged by Mrs. Roy Tidwell, assisted by Mrs S. R. Nelson and Miss Rowena Wilburn. Phildon Huffaker was toastmaster and the program included a reading by Mrs. Roland Maw and two vocal solos. "Mighty Like a Rose” and “April Showers". Following the dinner, games, contests and stunts were enjoyed by the guests under the direction of Mrs. Ersel Beus and Dr. Lester Emmett. Mrs. Sheldon Archibald was chairman of the ban quet committee and was assisted by Mrs. Emory Beuhler, Mrs. Lawrence Holbrook and Mrs. Roy Tidwell. -§ - WESLEYAN SERVICE GUILD MEETS Mrs. A1 Chadwick entertained the members of the Wesleyan Service guild of the Methodist church at her home Monday evening. During the business meeting, the following officers were elected: Mrs. Chad wick president; Mrs. Emil Paulus, vice president; Miss Teresa Gehnert, secretary, and Miss Myrtle Ilett, treasurer. Miss Ilett, who was in charge of the program, told of the Methodist mission medical work that was being carried on in the Philip pine islands. Refreshments were served by the hostess and Miss Viola Fothergill, assistant hostess. —8 - WEDNBSDAY BRIDGE CLUB MEETS Mrs. Ray Russell was hostess to her Wednesday evening bridge club this week. Mrs. Harry Miner won the prize for high score and Mrs. Sid Burbidge the traveling prize. Mrs. Louis Pfeiler of Ontario was a guest player. Dinner was served before the party Two tables were in play.
