They are taken from the official feeding charts of Mike and Ike demonstration pigs at Tobler's Feed & Fuel. All we ask is that you compare the weight- gain and feed costs of these two pigs since the start of the test on Sept. 23. Mike gets grain and Purina Hog Chow. Ike gets grain only. These are the final figures from the feeding charts of these two pigs. Here's the story in brief that those figures tell: We fed Mike 470 lbs. of grain at a cost of $14.10, plus 52 pounds of Purina Hog Chow at a cost of $3.77, or a total feed cost for Mike of $17.87. Mike gained 169 pounds in weight during 70 days, so the cost per 100 pounds of weight gained was $10.57. $9.36. But he gained only 73 pounds in 70 days so it actually cost more to feed him per pound of gain than it did Mike. Ike's feed cost per 100 pounds of weight gained was $12.82. Ike was fed the same kind of grain that Mike had, but grain only and no Purina Hog Chow. We fed him 312 pounds of grain at a cost of Folks, here is positive proof in a live-test dem onstration as to what feeding Purina Hog Chow will do, both for faster gains and cheaper gains. Why not decide right now to try it on your own hogs and see the difference it makes for you? Think what it means to get your hogs to market by the time they are 5l/2 to 6 months weighing 235 pounds.
