Don Jones, junior, placed second In the 440 yard dash, and Joe Witty, senior, won third place in the mile. Only first and second places qualify for the state meet to be held in Cor vallis. Mrs. Wilma Williams of Ogden is visiting her family, Mr. and Mrs. John Gowey, for a few days. She was called home when her little girl. Trudie Williams, broke her collar-bone in a fall on a cement floor. Five-year-old Donald Scott is confined to bed because of illness. Wayne Sparks, sick with measles the past week, is now fully recov ered. The Mary and Martha society met Thursday ill the Adrian Fiist Presbyterian church. Mrs. Francis Defier and Mrs. Cowling served. Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Clofolo were Monday evening dinner guests at tlie home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reuter. Barbara Hatch, who was confined to tier home by illness for a l e w days, is now recovered and back in school. Mrs. D. T. Holly is now recover ing after an extended illness of several weeks. Mrs. Howard Hatch and daugh ter, Barbara, were Sunday visitors at the home o f Mrs. Hatch's par ents. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Wymer of Parma. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Smith took a carload of baseball players to Union Monday for the playoff game for the B. championship of Malheur and Baker counties. Ad rian had won their game from Huntington for the right to be represented in Union. The score was 4 to a in favor of Union. Mr. Henderson, who has been ill for the past week has been ordered to bed for a month o f rest. Over the week-end he was visited by Homer Bott and daughter of Indian valley, and Mr. and Mrs. V.
