The first dance was enjoyed by members of the court. Dance music was furnished by the College of Idaho orchestra. Miss Nihart and her art class made the painted decorations. Pete rson has W I N P O W A N D DOOR FRAMES ■ .... musicians taking part as follows: Cinderella, Jance Campbell; prince, Dean Hunter; the two mean sis ters. Marie and Charlotte, portray ed by LaRue Franklin and Shirley Nolen; farry godmother, Carina Taylor; escorts, Jim Nicholson and Leo Long, violinists Angela P e t erson, Loura Schenk, Noni Child and Dona Lee Wilson and pianists Betty F ife, Carlene Jones and A n gela Peterson. Scene 1 was in Cinderella’s home. She was clad in a drab brown, much patched, ragiged dress and was ironing clothes. T h e two 'ugly mean sisters” , wno were clad in lovely gowns, were preparing for the (pall, applying makeup and discussing the events to came. They sang, "Dancing In The Dark." Scene I I was at the ball. Couples sat at tables bearing lace covers and tiny lighted lamps, sipping beverage from wine glasses, while .he violins played "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes” . O f course the two mean sisters did not reconize the lovely princess, to be their sister. They did not know about the fairy godmother, who came, gowned in oheer white robes, with a silver wand and arranged for Cinderella to attend the ball. A large clock rear center stage indicated the time to be almost lz, midnight. A t the stroke of the chimes, Cinderella remembers that she promised to return by 12, or she would ioe turned into her fo r mer status in rags, her carriage would turn back into a pumpkin and her gallant horses to mice. Suddenly and with surprise to ah, Jie jumped up and ran down the stairs and out o l the ball room, losing one of her dainty silver slippers. ‘ln e prince, Dean Hunter, im mediately, tries to follow her, but to no avail. Upon his return he finds the little slipper, and lond- .y caressing it, sings " I ’m Falling in Love W ith Someone." Scene I I I is at Cinderella’s home again. The prince is there, trying to find the owner of the slipper, oecause he said " I shall marry the one whom it shall fit." O f course the two mean sisters anxiously try on the slipper. They push and squeeze but it will not fit. T h e prince asks almost hope lessly, "Is there no one else?' Cinderella steps forth and agree« to try it on. O f course it slipps on easily, and the prince looks at her in wonderment, and discovers she is the lovely girl he danced with at the ball. T h e two sisters, indignant, leave, with turned-up noses. Then the Prince and C in derella sing a vocal duet, "M y Hero." Door prizes were awarded to Ed Pruyn, who received an electric clock. Barbara M acPartland re ceived a lovely lamp.
