practically impossible because of the nature of
the two ideologies. One is postive force work
ing for good and the other is a negative force
working for evil, so the democracies cannot
stoop to the selfish brutality of the Russians and
maintain their policy of helping to uplift the
world. It again appears that the forces of evil
have the advantage. This negative element will
remain in force until the people of the W’orld de
cide they want democracy.
We don’t have democracies generally in
Europe because the people don’t desire to have
democratic systems. We can’t have successful
democracies until the people have the desire in
their hearts.
We can’t buy democracy, we
have to fight for it.
We can’t have a world
democracy until people desire it and we can’t
have world peace until the powerful nations of
the world are democratized.

A CORRECT TRUISM
One of the truest of the truisms is that if
you sow the wind you will reap the whirlwind.
The western powers sowed the seeds of
strife with Russia many months ago when the
veto was approved as a policy in the united
nations. Now, through the mere raising of the
hand, the Russian delegation has blocked united
nations interference in the Berlin crisis. Russia
has used the veto 27 times, mostly to block pro
posals offered by their allies of world war It.
Russia has used the veto more than the
other powers because the Russian system of
government is a negative system, designed to
crush and destiny, whereas the policy of the
democracies is to build, improve and assist.
Many have suggested that the democcracies
treat Russia as she treats others, but that is
hall.
