WELL The city o f Nyssa has made a water line connection with the well of the Idaho Canning company to increase the supply of water avail able to local residents for irrigation and domestic use. The connection was delayed because of lack of fit tings. T h e city is now pumping 230 gal lons a minute from the Idaho Can ning company well, which is slight ly less than what the city secures from each o f its three wells, or an addition o f more than 25 per cent to the city supply. The water, which is tested as the city water, will be available throughout the summer. The water is in the same stratum as the city water supply. City Man ager E. K. Burton said. The program will be opened with the grand entry featuring Queen Bette Pett and her retinue and rep resentatives of tthe riding clubs o f the Snake river valley. Top-notch cowboys o f the coun try will compete for $2000 in cash prizes in saddle bronc riding, bare- back riding, calf roping and bull- dogging. Other features on the program will include the kids calf roping, brama bull figh ting and clowning, drill team demonstrations and flag and stake racing. . V • , .
