We look back on 1947 and we real
ize we’ve tiptoed through a lot at
history . . . and when we look a-
head we find tlhe signs as encour
aging as a sailor’s wink. There ait
rosy tints In the business picture,
and the atom bomb excitement
seems to be cooling. In Europe and
Cinna the Marshall Plan holds
plenty ol promise, and If the Eu
ropean nations aren't exactly hold
ing hands, thy do seem to be pro
gressing toward a smoother state
of affairs. I make no claims as a
crystal gazer, but my guess Is that
we're In for a great year. So good
