* In Honor of and in Appreciation for those who served and sacrificed in World War II Preserving Life. And Health Should Be The First Concern Of A Christian Community LIVES OF OUR CITIZENS HAVE BEEN NEEDLESSLY LOST AND HEALTH OF MANY ENDANGERED BECAUSE WE HAVE NO AVAILABLE HOSPITAL. THE PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF THE DESPERATE SITUATION AND REAL IZE THAT IT CAN BE SOLVED ONLY BY THOSE WHO RESIDE IN THIS AREA AND NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES. IN AN EFFORT TO SOLVE THIS VITAL PROBLEM, A LARGE COMMITTEE OF CITIZENS IS SPONSORING THE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL MONEY-RAISING CAMPAIGN. MAKE A SACRIFICIAL GIFT “NAMES THAT WILL LIVE” Many of the finest hopitals were erected by voluntary contributions of funds and are operated by churches, fraternal orders, community and memorial associations, and other nonprofit corporations. THE SURVEY of our hospital needs shows a vital demand for a NONPROFIT HOS PITAL with 32 beds. f A NONPROFIT HOSPITAL means self-sustaining. No one profits from the income received from the patients. All the income is used to maintain the service and effici ency of the hospital. The Memorial Hospital will be one in which ALL THE INCOME from the patients and from bequests will be used for operating expenses, supplies, ef ficient nursing, upkeep and repair, and purchase of the most modem operating equipment for the benefit of the patients. Because there -will be no stockholders, NONE OF THE INCOME WILL BE USED TO PAY DIVIDENDS. THERE W UL BE NO FEDERAL INCOME TAXES. All members of the Board of Directors will serve without compensation. THE LIFE OF’ NONPROFIT HOSPITAL. The life of this memorial hospital will be perpetual. The hospital corporation will own and control the site, building, and all equipment. ITS DOORS WILL NEVER CLOSE. It is legally planned for PERPET UAL SERVICE TO HUMANITY. It can not be sold or discontinued like a profit hospital. FINANCIAL PLAN. The Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit corporation. It has no stock; THEREFORE NO STOCK WILL BE SOLD. It is to be FINANCED BY MANY GIFTS in varying amounts from the citizens of this area. MEMBERS LIABILITY. The members of this hospital will NEVER BE LIABLE FOR ANY DEBTS OR ASSESSMENTS. CORPORATE CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT. This hospital, like any bank or in dustry, will be managed and controlled by a Board of Directors. Experience has shown that prominent laymen serve on nonprofit memorial hospital boards of directors without compensation, and GIVE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND ADVICE THAT IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO BUY. Under this title in the public lobby of the hospital, will be listed the memorials, the names of all who contribute any sum of money, and the volunteer workers of the money-raising campaign . . . alf who make this new hospital possible their names will live. Be a Founder! in order that future generations will know that you helped build this hospital. CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVE $240,000 COST OF THE CAMPAIGN. The cost of organizing the money-raising campaign has been raised by public spirited citizens. THE BUILDING will be the most approved hospital design suitable for this area — dust-proof and fire-safe, insulated and air-conditioned — and will embody every modern refinement for the comfort of the patients. BE SELF RELIANT No longer can we rely upon distant cities to furnish hospital protection for our citi zens as well as their own. We must maintain adequate modern hospital facilities to protect the lives of our citizens. ESTABLISH A LIVING MEMORIAL Your name or that of a loved one—wife, husband, mother, father, son or daughter, sister or brother—will be honored, and his or her memory perpetuated by this service rendered the community.
