The government has approved
two new buildings for the Adrian
high school. If the buuumgs are
j received, they will arrive some-
I time in March. One of the build
ings will be used as a music buldi-
' ing and the other as a cannery. It
is also possible a hot lunch pro
gram will be started when the
buildings are here.

semester of school will be held
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday,
Principal Stanley Huffman haa set
up special periods for them.
The library students are getting
regular library training now. On
Saturday, January 11 they went to
-he county library In Ontario to
get special training.
The students talcing this course
are Joyce Kurtz. Delores Salters,
Bethel Pettis, Ilea Kreager, Betty
Newbill and Glen Trussell.
The Ag. boys have received be
tween 75 and 100 new tools to work
with. In addition to the equip
ment, they have a new filing cabi
net. This equipment will enable
more students to do more work
and to do better work.
All the equipment Is surplus ma
terial, with practically no cost tc
the school.
The home economics department
has four new deluxe Kelvinatoi
stoves and one new Kelvlnator re
irigerator.

RE DRESSING MARS
The nations of the world are going to remove
from Mars his traditional coat of armor and
dress him in a cloak of respectability— a full
dress suit and silk plug hat.
The world’s statesmen are going to take
away from war what Sherman said it was, they
are going to remove the hell, the murder, the
heinousness, the fiendishness and all the othei
terrible conditions and substitute therefor co
operation, thoughtfulness and consideration.
They are going to outlaw the atomic bomb
and place war on a sportsmanship basis like
football and tennis.
Is death any sweeter if it is administered
with a piece of shrapnel? Is it any sweeter i
it is caused by an ordinary bomb? Is it any
sweeter if it is administered by a sweet-smell
ing swallow of poison? Or is it sweeter when
caused by a bullet fired from a glistening pearl
handled pistol?
The nations have outlawed the use of gas
because it is too terrible to think about, and no
body used it in the last war because everyone
was afraid of what the other fellow had. That
did not stop war. The atomic bomb stopped the
last war in a few days, thereby saving thous
ands upon thousands of lives and billions of
dollars in materials and property. The atomic
bomb will do more to outlaw war than any
thing els« developed so far in science or social
reform.^
Let’s keep our atomic bombs. This country
has played the role of the “sap” long enough.
