ORANG E G LAZE D SW EET PO TATO ES 4 large sweet potatoes 4 T. shortening 1 teaspoon salt 1 unpeeled orange, sliced 3/4 cup brown sugar Cook sweet potatoes until tender; peel, and cut into quarters, length wise. Coat casserole with shorten ing. Arrange potatoes and orange dices In shallow baking dish. Dot with butter or vegetable shorten ing. Combine brown sugar and salt and sprinkle over potatoes and or anges. Cover. Bake In hot oven (400) for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake 10 minutes more. Turn potatoes 2 or 3 times during baking.
