Mrs. Henry Gannon of Los An geles. has come to Nyssa, prob ably to live for the duration of the war. Mr. Oannon is in the service. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Fife spent Sunday evening in Parma visiting Mrs. Fife's mother, Mrs. Kristin Jensen, who is 87 years old. Presi dent Fife was in Emmett on busi ness for the church Sunday morn ing. Department of Agricul ture. Prices haven’t always been good during the past 12 years, but farmers have kept the nation’s pantries full. Today farm prices are 2 percent above those of 1929—but farmers are producing more than 26 percent more than in 1929, an all-time record harvest. The Merry Matrons club met at the heme of Alberta Bowen Wed nesday afternoon with Nora Snod grass assisting. The afternoon was spent embroidering for the hostess. Two guests, Virginia Brandt and Evelyn Mitchell, and 11 mem ber answered roll call with house hold hints. Plans were made for the club’s annual Christmas party which will be held Dec. 16. at the home of Jennie Benson with Opal Holmes as co-hostess. Pcllyanna Christmas gifts will be exchanged Mothers are to provide a wrapped gift for each small child for a gift exchange. The club quilt will be given away. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Mr and Mrs Eldo Thompson of Portland have been visiting at the Marion Chard home. They left for their home Sunday. Mrs. Hans Wurl Is still in a ser ious condition. Mr. and Mrs. R. W.
