From ENGLISH SISTER Mrs. Lillian Newby of Nyssa has received clippings of war articles printed in English newspapers from her sister, Mrs. Edgar Moss of Sheffield. Yorkshire England. One article tells of a comman do officer. Lieutenant James Ennis, who insisted during the Boulogne raid on wearing carpet slippers so that he could “invade France In comfort". Upon returning from the com mando raid on Europe, Lieutenant Ennis called his wife on the tele phone as gaily as if he had just returned from a party. "Hello. I'm back— hew are you?” he greeted. Former police colleagues in Lon don Speak of Ennis as “slim, easy going with a great sense of hum or”. The carpet slippers incident, they said, was typical of the man. He was never afraid of anything, they said, and would take a “rough house” in his stride and regard it as “a bit of fu n ”. One picture shows a commando just back from the raid on Boulo gne handing back ammunition that he did not use. The editor said "He will get it back in due course, when the time comes to strike again on the coast of Europe". Another article states that the dole fund is mounting.
