Operation of the service is based upon use for correspondence only to and from the armed forces abroad of a special standard uni form and distinctive V-mail letter sheet. These letter sheets are a combination letter and envelope. Each is a sheet of stationery of a standard and gummed as to fold into a uniform and distinctively marked envelope. Some of the letters will be photographed for transmission. Letters that ordin arily require 37 mail bags, when photographed require only one 45 pound mail bag. The (»stage is three cents for ordinary mail and six cents for air mail. Because of the conserva tion of space it will be possible to send much of the mail by bomber ferry service, instead of by boat. The envelopes are available at the Nyssa post office.
