BERNARD FROST According to records at the local Union Pacific offices sugar filled the largest number of cars of any one commodity going out over the Union Pacific lines from Nyssa, with a total of 26 carloads leaving the factory. Cattle came second with 23 carloads leaving. There were also shipped from this station dur ing the month of April 11 carloads of potatoes, two carloads of vege tables, 2 of molasses and 1 of hgs. Coming into Nyssa over the Un ion Pacific lines were 2 carloads of lumber. 11 of cement, 29 of coal, 2 of pipe culvert and Iron, 2 of phosphate, 1 of fuel oil, 1 of flour, 2 of beet seed and 1 of petroleum products. The hail stones were as big as a good sized straw berry in many places and pounded grain fields and garden plots flat to the ground and stripped the leaves from every growing thing.
