Election of one director and three members to constitute the advisory board will be held. All association members should plan to attend. Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Holmes, Rob ert and Junior returned Wednesday from Modesto, Calif., where they visited with relatives during the holidays. They used the Jordan Val ley highway and report excellent roads. Ewen Chard is building a new bam. Leonard Olson is building a der- dick. Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Fry made a business trip to Payette Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Holmes and sons visited Sunday afternoon at the F. S. Byers home. AR C AD IA CLUB HOLDS ELECTION ARCADIA—The club met at the school house January 4. The new officers elected were: Mrs. Otis Bullard, president; Mrs. Jack Schenk, vice-president; Mrs. Dave Brady, secretary and treasurer; Mrs. Granton Eason and Mrs. Lloyd Or ris, flower committee. The next meeting will be at the school house Jan. 18. The hostesses are Mrs. Mae Fleming, Mrs. Bill and Mrs. Virgil Holoday. Mrs. Granton Eason went to Cald well last Wednesday with Curtis Easons. Louie Pryor has rented Otis Bul lard’s 80 acres near the game farm and is moving this week. Ellis Warners are having electri city installed this week. Mrs. Zack Walker, who has been helping Mrs. Vernon Butler for the past few weeks, returned to her heme in Ontario last Thursday. Hickey accompanied the Journal reporter Monday after noon gathering news and called a few minutes on several neighbors. E. Mitchell and family and Mary Gardner were at Ira Ure’s Sunday for dinner. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Ure and Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell went to B. G. Bybee’s near Ontario. The men at tended the bowling tournament. Floyd Eason returned home last Wednesday evening from Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Perle Richard vis ited at the Jake Bodmer home on Thursday afternoon. Norman Hipp went to Portland with a load of cattle Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Chelcy Boyer spent Sunday at Bill Hipps. Mr. and Mrs. George Moeller went to his mother’s in Valley View district to help butcher Monday. Charles Bullard and Ted Frahm sold their hay to the Mendiola sheep ranch. Truman Wagner is home to spend the winter. He has been working on the Southern Pacific railorad near Eugene. New Westerns— The Nyssa library has a number of new westerns, so popular at pres ent with readers and among the newer ones are several of Zane Grey’s. SCARLET FEVER IN ALBERTA DISTRICT ALBERTA VALLEY — Thelma Cooper is ill with scarlet fever. Klaas Tensen played in the bowl ing tournament between Nyssa and Ontario at Payette Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Taylor, Mrs. Jesse Sharp, and Mr. and Mrs. Fran cis A. Gardner spent Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Mandy Williams in Vale. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stam in Ore gon Trail entertained Mr. and Mrs. Z. Davidson of Parma, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Tensen, Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Groot, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Groot Sunday afternoon. The men spent the afternoon playing cards. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Fife are spending the week in Glenns Ferry and King Hill, Idaho. A combined birthday dinner was given for Rosie Matthews and Dar win Kibby at the O. Z. Matthews home Thursday. Marjorie Groot attended the 4-H club leaders meeting in Ontario on Saturday. Nan Grider of Nyssa was an over night guest of Marie and Bertha Sweet Wednesday. Roy Burbank made a business trip to Blackfoot Friday and Saturday. Mrs. Maud Bogart and Mis. Klaas Tensen spent Sunday at the Tommie Johnson home in Vale. Mrs. T. M. Beranek and Carl of Baker who have been visiting at the C. M. Tensen and Clayton Jensen homes, left Saturday for Baker.
