BANDS AND BASEBALL DeGrofft Gets Five Year Term William DeGrofft, Nyssa farmer, led the field in a six candidate race for the board of directors of the new high school district composed of the school district of Oregon Trail and Nyssa. Tabulation of votes shows the three Nyssa candidates. Ray G. Larson. Dale Garrison and C. C. Wyckoff, while In the Oregon Trail district William DeGrofft and Mrs. Alice Holmes led in the voters choice over George Wilson. The highest vote was cast for an Ore gon Trail candidate, William De Grofft, who received 78 votes. Next in order was Ray G. Larsen, 76; C. C. Wyckoff, 73; Dale Garrison, 70; Mrs. Alice Holmes. 49. and George Wilson, 48. The terms of office are determin ed by the number of votes cast for each candidate. The one receiving the highest number of votes taking office for a term of five years and going down the list until the last one serves for only one year. The newly elected board, accord ing to requirements of law should take office the first Monday in July, but as the day falls in be tween Sunday and a holiday the meeting may be postponed.
