Heights, Richland and Buena Vista
districts have completed the pro­
ject.
Mrs. Jamison was chairman of
the committee that made a survey
and selected the names for the
roads. These names have been given
the approval of the county court
and will stand as official.
With few exceptions all roads fol­
low the section lines and those
running east and west are desig­
nated Avenues, while those running
north and south take street desig­
nations. Beginning with what has
been known as the ‘slaughter house’
road, which was changed to Col­
umbia Avenue, roads on the south,
and running east and west were
named in the order given: Abram
Ave., Cloverdale Ave., Enterprise
Ave., Grand Ave., Ivanhoe Ave..
formerly C. C. C. road), Janeta
Ave., Klamath Ave.
Beginning with the road one mile
west of Nyssa which was named
Echo Street, all roads running north
and south were named In the or­
der given: Fairview St„ Highland
Drive., Idaho Street.
Jefferson
Drive, Lytle Boulevard and Mission
Street.
Other communities have similar
projects under way, which it is re­
ported will be completed in the near
future.
It is contemplated to erect sign
posts at each intersection, and at a
later date to have each farm house
numbered.
The Ontario Kiwanls club, headed
by their president. Doctor Tacke, in­
vaded the precinct of Nyssa, Wed­
nesday night, and gave the local
business and professional men first
hand information as to how the Ki-
wanians conducted their meetings
the aims of the club and the place
that it has in any community.
Songs of various vintage were
sung by the combined group, as
well as individual entertainment fur­
nished by Noah Richards and A.
Quast.
