W hile there they had their Christ mas party together as Mrs Forbes left on Tuesday for Portland for an extended visit with her other chil dren. Cantata a Success— The cantata given by the Metho dist church choir at the church on Sunday evening was a real suc cess and a full capacity audiance was there to enjoy it. The cantata was under the man agement of Mrs. Poage with Miss Ruth W olfe as pianist. Christmas Committee Meets— On Monday a committee composed of Mrs. Dick Tensen, Mrs. Wes Browne, Mrs. Don Graham and the Rev. Floyd White met at the com munity church to discus sthe filling of Christmas baskets for the needy o f the community. It was found after a survey that about fifteen will be needed of which- half will go in the city and half to the rural dis tricts. Any one having canned fruits or other supplies which they they wish to give towards this work will please bring them to the church house at the earliest possllbe date. Used clothes that are in good repair as well as any other usable -article will a'so be welcomed. Christmas Tree Parties Are W ell Attended. The Christmas tree party sponsor ed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and their Auxiliaries on Thursday night was attended by mast of the veterans in the community and their families. A short and interesting program was given before the tinkle of Santa bells was heard and he put in his appearance. There was candy and nuts for every one so that every one left smiling. The party held by the Eagles on Sunday night was also well attended and besides the Eagles own families children of the not so fortunate were taken care of most geenrously. Son Visits— Mr. and Mrs. Haycock of Burley, Idaho, visited with his parents. Mr and Mrs. George Haycock over Sunday and Monday. Sunday ('a lie n — On Sunday Mr. Hannigan, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. John Hannigan with their children, and Mrs. Cars- ten all of Payette visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marshal. Church Dance— The L. D 8 Church will give a dance at the church house on Thurs day night December twenty third And the R elief Society will hold a bazaar. W. C. T. U. On Tuesday the W C. T. U. met with Mrs. George Toombs with a nice crowd In attendance. Mrs. Josie Douglas was in charge of de- votionals and after the regular meeting ways and means to help the youth in farm homes was dis cussed. The next prayer meeting to be held by them will be in the rear of the O. K Tire shop on December twenty eighth at which tlm? all members are urged to attend and to bring their hesbands. The regular business meeting will next meet on January fourth at the home of Mrs. W. H. Green when Mrs. Mathews will be in charge of devotionals. The members of the W. C. T.
