NYSSA GATE CITY JOURNAL, THURSDAY, DEC. 16,1937, Society announcem ent PARTY The forth-coming marriage of Miss Deana Smith, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Dean Smith, to Mr. Carroll Tucker was announced Monday evening at a pleasant party given by Misses Deana and Doris Smith at tht Ir home. The announcement was made at the close of the party when each guest received upon her dessert plate a scroll and chrysanthemum tied with Christmas ribbon, which Informed them that the wedding would take place next Wednesday, December 22. After the usual number of hands were played, a Christmas tree and an exchange of presents was enjoy ed. -5 - CIVIC CLUB The Civic Club met on Wednesday at St. Paul’s parish house and after the regular business meeting an interesting program was given. Four articles on the origin and dev elopment of spices were read by Mrs. Bud Anderson. Mrs. J. J. Sar azin, Mrs. Dean Smith and Mrs. Dick Groot After this a one act play “400 Green Street" was presented by Mrs Betty La Frenz, Mrs. N. H. Pinkerton, Mrs. C. Kllnkenberg and Mrs. S. B. Davis.
