R Lofton, rancher and stockman and one of the earliest pioneers of the Ironside country. He was found dead at his home here about 7 o’clock Saturday evening. He was 73 years of age. He Is survived by his wife, Frona, two daughters Mrs. Loyd Judy of Unity and Mrs. Bert Laurance of Ontario, two grandchildren, Vernon Laur­ ance o f Ironside and Mrs. Pete Pres­ sley of Brogan, and four great grand children. Also one brother S. A. Lofton well known rancher and stockman of Ironside and a sister Mrs. Rosa Wodcock of Baker. Funeral services were held Tues­ day at Ironside with the Peterson Funeral Home of Ontario in charge. The Ladles Club met at the home of Mrs. Arthur Nichols on the 4th with a good attendance. A pleasant afternoon was enjoyed by all after which the hostess served a lovely lunch. Mrs. Claude Derrick of On­ tario and her daughter Mrs. Mervin Derrick were guests of the club. Vernon Nichols of California visited several days at the home of his uncle Arthur Nichols and his cousin Orville Nichols and family.
