Brief items of interest regarding the Granges of the County,
their activity, aims and purposes.
STORK SHOWER
FOR MRS. WHEELER
A fireside shower was given Fri­
day, August 6 by Mrs. Howard
Greenup and Mrs. Dave Dugger In
honor of Mrs. Herman Wheeler at
her home. A large party of friends
enjoyed the afternoon sewing and
visiting; after which the many
beautiful gifts were opened by the
honor guest. Lovely refreshments
were served by the hostess.
Those who attended the affair
were Mrs. Arch Jenkins and Miss
Vera May Jenkins of Ontario; Mes-
dames Thelma Mefford, Jake Fisch­
er, Francis Ray, Anna Henderson,
Claude Willson, Vesta Tuttle, Rose
Toombs, Velma Engle, Bert Spen­
cer, Walter Marshall, A. H. Will-
son, Jewe Rice Choate, Water Rice,
Lorren Recor, Tom Dixon, and Jen­
nie Baker.

MRS. FISHER ENTERTAINED
FRIDAY AFTERNOON
Fcur tables of Contract were in
play Friday afternoon when Mrs.
H-.rbert Fisher entertained with a
delightful dessert bridge party. Mrs
W. F. McLing Emmett was an out
of town guest. Honors at cards went
to Mrs. Dewey Ray, first; Mrs. Mc­
Ling, second; and Mrs. Louis P.
Thomas, traveling prize.

VISITORS ENTERTAINED
SUNDAY EVENING
The Franklin Fry home in Oregon
Trail district was the scene of a
large social gathering Sunday even­
ing when the Fry's entertained in
honor of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hartley
and Mr. Robbins of Southerland,
Oregon, who were Sunday over
night guests of the Frys while en
route to New Orleans. Besides the
honor guests and the hcsts dinner

BIRTHDAY PARTY.
Janie Parr celebrated her 6th
birthday last Tuesday afternoon
with a party for several young
friends given at the W. A.McNall
home in Oregon Trail. Games and
a nice lunch were enjoyed by the
youngsters. Mrs. George McKee,
Mrs. Chas. Thomason and Mrs.
Floyd Campbell were also present.

MRS. ROBERTSON
ENTERTAINS
Mrs. Artie Robertson was hostess
to two nice parties last Wednesday
and Thursday afternoon, entertain­
ing with a dessert bridge each day.
Three tables of bridge were in play
and on Wednesday Mrs. Dick
Adams won high score prize and
Mrs. Dewey Ray .second. Thursday
afternoon the honors went to Mrs.
Dean Smith, first; and Mrs. Howard
Larsen, second.

THURSDAY CONTRACT CLUB
The Thursday Contract club met
with Mrs. Howard Larsen Thursday
evening with Mrs. Frank Morgan
winning the high score award.

TUESDAY CONTRACT CLUB
Mrs. J. J. Sarazin entertained the
Tuesday Contract club this week.
Enough extra guests were invited
to make up one extra table with
Mrs. Edward Mucho winning the
guest prize. The club prizes were
won by Mrs. C. L. McCoy and Mrs.
Dewey Ray.

ELDORADO GRANGE

The El Dorado Grange met on
the 23rd of July with a good atten­
dance. Roll call was answered with
jokes. The life of Stephen Foster
was discussed and several of his
songs were sung during the literary
hour.
The Grange will hold its next
regular meeting on Friday evening
August 13. The Lecturer is giving a
prize for the best stunt. Bach
granger is asked to put on a stunt
of some kind for entertainment,
after which games will be played.
