BRUMBACH Misses Virginia MUler and Evelyn Haworth and Gerrlt Timmerman are among the graduates of the Nyssa high school from this dis trict. The two former received their early education in Wade school, Gerritt Timmerman moved here from Oregon Trail district, but re ceived his eighth grade diploma here. A number of Bend people at tended the closing exercises held Thursday evening at the high school gymnasium. Wade school closed Friday with a picnic at Big Bend Park. A boun tiful dinner was enjoyed by pat rons, teachers and pupils. In the afternoon a ball game was played with Kolony nine, in which the visiting team was victor. Miss W ilma Colwell left Friday evening for her home in Fruitland and Mrs. M. Barnett left for Weis er Saturday. Mrs. Ijene Nightingale of O n tario came over Wednesday to spend the summer with her par ents. Mrs. Lora Pillsbury returned home Saturday evening from a weeks visit with relatives in Boise. Ezra Brumbach spent Saturday in Boise and Nampa on business. Mrs. F. A. Miller, Misses Virginia Miller and Isabelle Sarazin of Nyssa were Caldwell visitors Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Lee who spent the past three weeks visiting coast cities returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Purdy were Ontario visitors Monday. Mr. Pur dy is taking treatments of Dr. Johnson. The Jolly Janes will meet Thurs day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Kolsky. A representative from the extension department at Corvallis will be present to outline a plan of work for the summer and fall. The Jolly Janes have extended an invi tation to all in the community to attend. Mr and Mrs. H. R. Hatch.
