NYSSA GATE CITY JOURNAL, THURSDAY. MARCH 4,1937 KINGMAN KOLONY M ISS FLORENCE RUSSELL By MBS. C. E. E L L IO T T The chicken supper given by the Kingman grange Friday night was a decided success. Dinner was serv ed to nearly 75 people by the HEC between the hours of 6 and 9 p m Mr. Duane Anderson had charge c f the program for the entertain- mentof the adults and Mrs. Oscar Schafer amused the youngsters. Mr Louis Recla favored the group with twoacordian solos. The remainder cf the evening was spent playing games. The HEC of Kingman grange met Tuesday of tern con at (he home o. Mrs. M. M. Creeling. Ted Rogers has resigned as driver of the school bus and Walter Pink ston will finsh out the term. Plans are being made by the Sunday School for the Easter pro gram. A program committee was ap pointed by the supsrint ndent Sun day, coiniicsed of Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. J. G. Lane and Miss Betty Nelson. Miss Betty Nelson was a Sunday guests in the M. L. Kurtz home. Mrs. Conrad Martin left Tuesday for Genesee, Idaho to he with lit' mother who is quite ill. Mr. Frank Hendricks of Mountain Home has bet-n visiting in the Frank Ncwbill home the past week. Mrs. Lou Eachus and bnby have returned licine from the hospital. Mrs. Harris, cousin of Mrs. Eachus will remain in the Eachus home un til Mrs. Eachus is able to be out of bed. Mr. Corn and family have rented the Eon.ma rancli on the benchr. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Park, r are moving 1 1 Ontario. Mr. Parker has employment with Mr. Hatch. Mrs. M. L. Kurtz and Mrs. H. B. Williams were guests in the Lou Eachus home Wednesday. Miss Joy Crummett and Miss Betty Nelson were dinner guess in the J. G. Lane home Thursday evening. Miss Carrie Joyce Kurtz was host ess to a number of her young friends Thursday afternoon to celebrate her birthday. After the games were play ed refreshments of cake and ice cream were served by Mrs. Kurtz. Mr. and Mrs. Price and family have moved from Adrian to the ten- nant house on the C. C. Cotton ranch. Mr. Price will work for Mr. Cotton this summer. Ted Rogers, Jess Sugg and Leslie Young have all purchased several head of dairy stock this week. Pupils in Miss Crumniett's room are busy preparing for the Declama tory Contest to be beld in Vale on April 3rd. On Tuesday afternoon March 9th Miss Crummett wishes to invite those who wisli to visit her room at which time center t ints for the de clamatory rontest will recite their selections. The Flying Stitches girls of the 1st division sewing, are ready foi their stenciling work and are doing very good work, according to Mrs. John Thiel, leader. Parlimentary law was discussed with the whole group of 4-H mem bers at their meeting Friday by Mr. W iley Hewitt. The regular meeting of the P T A will be held in Adrian Friday after noon. J. W. Scott left Monday for Joseph Oregon with his brother Henry Scott of Dixie Flat, called by the serious illness of their sister Mrs. Gillie Trainer. Mrs. Cecil Case and fam ily Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Case and fam- ly spent Sunday at the Louie Howell home in Arena Valley. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Quick visited Mrs. M. K. Johannessen Monday. Carl Pond, son of Mr. and Mrs Cecil Pond had an accident at - heal Monday, running a large liver in his arm. Joe King took him home at once and his parents took him to a doctor to have it removed.
